English
Duel Masters
The
Duel Masters Trading Card Game English Edition was first released in
5th March, 2004 due to the rising
popularity of the game in Japan. It released twelve sets within a
period of two years, and adapts almost
all the cards from the ones in the original Japanese Edition.
Despite this, some cards like Streaming
Shaper and Cursed Totem were given exclusive errata in the English
Edition to become the
cards Psychic Shaper, Cryptic Totem and many more.
Due
to Wizards of the Coast deciding to cease support in this game
shortly after the twelfth set was released,
English Duel Masters was discontinued. Announcements have been given
in 2008 that Wizards
of the Coast no longer considers Duel Masters official because it is
not supported by the DCI.
However,
if you still want to play English Duel Masters at its heydays, check
online for the programs Duel
Masters Civilizations and Kaijudo Portal. The former provides a
downloaded client with many add ons
and features all twelve sets as featured in the original English
edition. The latter allows you to sign up
to play an extended format of English Duel Masters known as KirriCorp, as well as
play the game as
it is if English were still in print, albeit with the use of
Japanese rules.
